Vision 2035 Washington County
Washington County and the Emerald Coast Regional Council (ECRC) have partnered to update the Washington County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code (LDC). This update, Vision 2035 Washington County, provides current standards, goals, and long-range strategies to address economic, social, physical, environmental, and fiscal development.
What is the Comprehensive Plan?The Comprehensive Plan is the guiding policy document that sets the vision and goals for the future of the County with practical policies that will get us there. Vision 2035 Washington County will address the following chapters, also known as elements, within the plan:
- Future Land Use (Possible areas of growth in Washington County industrial, commercial, tourism, etc.)
- Conservation (Protecting environmental resources crucial to a thriving rural community)
- Capital Improvements (Improving public utilities and facilities)
- Transportation (Roads, signals, trails, etc.)
- Economic Development
What is the Land Development Code?The LDC implements the Comprehensive Plan by establishing procedures and standards for review and approval of development and use of land.
